What to actually buy
KEEP runs on standard hardware — no proprietary devices, no lock-in. Here's what we recommend, and why, broken down by what you're actually choosing between.
Main till: tablet vs. a dedicated touchscreen
Both run KEEP exactly the same way. The difference is upfront cost vs. how much abuse the till takes every night.
Tablet-only
E.g. this Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ (6/128GB) — 11″ screen, 90Hz, well above what KEEP itself needs but comfortable to use all night. Any standard Android tablet 10″+ works, including cheaper ones than this; this is just a solid, real-stock default.
- Best for a single-terminal venue (Tier 1)
- No proprietary stand required, though a basic countertop mount helps
- Lower upfront cost, shorter lifespan under heavy nightly use
15″ touchscreen + customer display
E.g. this Termina 15 listing, "2SN" variant — Windows-based (i5, 8GB RAM), a 15″ staff-facing touchscreen plus a second smaller screen facing the customer, so they can see their own order and total as it's rung up. The single-screen variant (no customer display) is ฿14,155, if that's not needed. Use either as the screen only and pair it with a standalone Epson printer below — some all-in-one terminals' built-in printers need the receipt sent as a rendered image rather than the text-based print protocol KEEP's kitchen/bar printing actually uses, so a built-in printer isn't guaranteed to work out of the box. A standalone Epson is the safe, confirmed-compatible choice. (KEEP runs in any modern browser, so Windows works exactly as well as Android.)
- Best for the main till that takes a beating every service
- The second screen is a real customer-facing display, not just a bigger ticket
- Higher upfront cost than a tablet, built to last longer in that one spot
Want it in one piece? A dual-screen all-in-one
One device instead of two separate stands, with the customer display already built in — at a real premium over the tablet or touchscreen options above.
CPOS C9PD, machine only
E.g. this CPOS C9PD listing — Android 14, octa-core, 8GB RAM/128GB ROM, a 15.6″ main screen plus a 10.1″ customer-facing display. Pick the "เฉพาะเครื่อง" (machine-only) option specifically — the "ครบชุด" (full-set) variant bundles a cash drawer, barcode scanner and built-in printer you may not need, at a higher price. Pair it with a standalone Epson printer below, same reasoning as the touchscreen option above — the built-in printer talks its own SDK, not the text-based protocol KEEP's kitchen/bar printing already uses out of the box, so an external Epson is the choice confirmed to work today.
- Open Android — Google Play Store, installs any app, not locked to one vendor's own POS software
- One device, one stand — the cleaner look, at roughly 3x the cost of a tablet paired with a separate display
- Best for venues where the look matters as much as the function
Printers: thermal, multi-language
One thermal printer per station that needs its own physical ticket — bar and kitchen each get one, independently configurable in KEEP.
Epson thermal receipt/kitchen printers
E.g. this EPSON TM-T82III (USB + LAN) listing — Epson's thermal line is the standard recommendation, widely available, well-supported, and prints Thai alongside English out of the box, which matters for a kitchen ticket that needs to be read fast. Shop around — other sellers list this same model too, sometimes cheaper.
- USB, LAN or Bluetooth depending on the model — confirm which fits your floor layout
- One per station: bar ticket printer, kitchen ticket printer
- Auto-cutter strongly recommended — saves staff a step on every single ticket
The recommended setup
What we'd actually tell a venue to buy, start to finish.
-
1
Main POSOne larger tablet or a 15″ touchscreen terminal at the primary till — see the comparison above.
-
2
2–3 server tabletsSmaller, cheaper tablets for staff taking orders table-side. These see more drops and spills than the main till, so cheap-and-replaceable beats premium here.
-
3
Kitchen monitorA basic TV or monitor in the kitchen, running KEEP's live ledger feed filtered to what the kitchen needs. Not a full ticket-queue KDS — a much cheaper way to get the same "kitchen can see what's coming" result.
-
4
Bar + kitchen printersOne Epson thermal printer per station — see above. Routing is set per item in printer setup, not a fixed "drinks to bar, food to kitchen" rule — a fired ticket prints wherever each item on it is assigned.
